Mirela Liana Moga, a native of Romania, has always had a passion for helping individuals improve their emotional well-being. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology and Counseling from Liberty University. Aware of the crucial impact of ethics on clinical practice, Mrs. Moga deepened her career’s theoretical foundation by pursuing an ethics-focused Master of Arts from Yale University. She resumed her studies in behavioral sciences at Connecticut State University, where she completed the theoretical training in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Following her relocation to Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Moga developed an interest in the neuropsychiatric basis for mental health disorders. As a nurse, she specialized in psychiatry and neurology. She worked in inpatient settings at Banner Behavioral Health, Valley Behavioral Hospital, Remuda Ranch Center for Anorexia and Bulimia, and Mayo Clinic Hospital neurology department.
In 2015, she became a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. As a nurse practitioner, over the past decade, she has been treating patients across the lifespan. In addition to treating common psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, insomnia, and psychotic disorders, Mrs. Moga specializes in the treatment of feeding and eating disorders, personality disorders, trauma-related disorders, and autism spectrum disorder.
Mrs. Moga started her psychiatric NP career by simultaneously working inpatient at Saint Luke’s Behavioral Treatment Center and at an outpatient adult mental health clinic.
Currently, Mrs. Moga treats adults and trains new psychiatric providers at The Meadows – a nationally recognized treatment center for trauma, eating disorders, and addictions. She also treats children and adolescents, on an outpatient basis, at Touchstone Health Services.
Mrs. Moga enjoys her roles as a wife, mother of three adult boys, and grandmother. She cherishes spending time with her family; she enjoys traveling, exercising, and skiing.
